Background information

  • Microarray is a high-throughput technique for functional genomics studies.  It is a powerful tool for discovery of new experimental clues.

  • Membrane-based cDNA Microarray will be used for gene expression analysis.

  • Technology was transferred from the research laboratory of National TaiwanUniversity (Taiwan).  This microarray system has been adapted and verified for clinical research. Around 200 clinical lung cancer tissues have been analyzed during the last 2 years. Prediction model for metastasis and survival have been set up using annotated cancer/metastasis-associated genes.

  • Commercial software “Avadis” helps to normalization and further exploration of gene expression profile in cells after certain treatments.
